Some talented teenagers in Kano have once again proven that Nigeria is gifted with innovators and resilient minds, The teenagers demonstrated this by developing a radio transmitter, a hydrogen gas farm sprayer, and a remote-controlled vehicle, under CITAD (Centre for Information Technology and Development) mentorship on electronic systems development.
One 17-year-old Khalifa Aminu, invented a radio FM transmitter, while 12-year-old twins, Hassan and Hussaini Muhammad, converted petrol, water, salt, and alum into hydrogen cooking gas, and also invented an electric farm sprayer, their counterpart Muazzam Sani, innovated a remote controlled car.
According to the young talents, they were trained, guided, and provided with equipment by their technicians, under the Center for Information Technology Development.

The teenagers maintained that they had undergone rigorous training, which has in turn paved the way for transforming their ideas into reality.
The chairman governing board CITAD, and a lecturer at the University of Maiduguri, Professor Amina Kaidal, In her remarks explained that Nigeria has talents that need to be explored, through ideas and innovations.
She advised the mentees to use their talents for the nation’s development by mentoring others to bring out their potential.
The Executive Director, of the Center for Information Technology and Development, Mr. Yunusa Zakari Ya’u, emphasized the need, for more young people to be inspired by putting ideas, into innovations and creativity. He said Khalifa has received a scholarship from the Kano state government, to study in Canada.
Engineer Yunusa, reaffirmed the center’s dedication, to mentoring young men and women to make them self-reliant.
Hamza Ibrahim from the Countering Hate Speech Project, (CITAD), said the young talents have produced technological ideas into business ideas which are products of the center tech lab.

The exhibition tagged: “Transforming tech ideas into business ventures exhibition” was aimed at showcasing young talents, and other technological innovations which were on display during the event, some of the developed ideas were, the tailoring app, farm products, and CCTV app, among others.
