Lagos State Governor: Sanwo-Olu announces salary increment for Lagos civil servants

The governor of Lagos state, Babajide Sanwo-olu says he has given approval for the commencement of the process for salary increment of workers in the state’s civil service.

Sanwo-Olu made this known on Tuesday while addressing the workers at the state secretariat, Alausa, Ikeja.

The governor said he understands that the high inflation in the country may have affected the purchasing power of workers.

He said Lagos state will not wait for the federal government before it improves the well-being of workers.

The governor said his administration is proactive to the yearnings of civil servants.

“I have looked around and I know that as a country, there is pressure,” he said.

“I know that, as a country, there is a high level of inflation.

“At our cabinet meeting, I instructed the head of service office and the ministry of staff, training, and pensions to start work on how we are going to increase the entire salary of our public servants.”

This kind of development will definetly increase the purchasing power of Lagos state civil servants who are drawn from every state of the federation.

It is also expected that the indirect effect will be felt across every part of the nation where the civil servants have their family members residing.
